Tax
Reports and 1099s
Your
year-end tax reports have been posted to your Private Page. They can be
found in the "portfolio" section.
Schwab
1099s
Recent
federal legislation has extended the deadline for brokerage firms to mail
Form 1099 from January 31 to February 15. This means that you will
receive year-end tax information two weeks later this year.
This change
may help to reduce the need to file corrected 1099s. Typically, if an
issuer, such as a fund company, sends Schwab revised year-end tax
information, they do so after Schwab has already mailed out
1099s. In some cases, this resulted in the need to prepare and
file an amended tax return. The two-week extension may help to alleviate
this problem.
